One ride starts a journey

It started with a ride, and turned into a post-ride conversation. Why do we spend so much money our bikes and then battle with finding products and accessories for them so that we can use them as we intended to in the first place?

A healthy discussion during post-ride drinks became a lingering voice in the back of my head. Every time I prepared my bike for another ride, I looked at it and thought to myself “why was my bike not made with this, the manufacturer was almost certain that I’d require it?”

As an avid and passionate cyclist, it was easy to look at all the riders around me and determine that this was a common problem. Bicycles are built and sold by manufacturers around the world with a “buy it and then do what you need to in order to make it fit your needs approach.”

The question loomed large… Why are manufacturers not selling bicycles that actually fit our end needs, rather than providing us with a base and leaving it up to us to assemble an end product. It is this very question that started the RP Designs journey.

The best time to learn about what riders want and need is when you riding with them.
